January 23rd presentation by Jim Smith
Join us Thursday, January 23rd at 7:00 pm at the Danville Public Library to hear Jim Smith share about his trip to Alaska. The event is free and open to the public. Snacks will be provided.
Jim Smith, long time member of the Middlefork Audubon Society, has demonstrated a lifetime commitment to the conservation of birds and plants, and the land itself. In 2012, Smith was named Conservationist of the Year by the Illinois Audubon Society (IAS). His conservation efforts include maintaining the 100-box bluebird trail at Edgewood Farm, coordinating volunteers for other bluebird trails in Champaign and Vermillion counties, coordinating and participating in various annual bird counts, and educating the public about the importance of protecting and preserving natural areas in Illinois.
January 9th Board Meeting
The first board meeting of the 2014 year will be held Thursday, January 9th, 7:15pm at the Danville, Public Library. The meeting is open to the public. If you are interested in having a bigger role in the Middlefork Audubon Society, please feel free to attend any board meeting.
Bald Eagle Watch
