Join us for our annual holiday potluck and gift exchange, Thursday the 11th of December, at the Danville Public Library. Bring a dish to share and a beverage. Participation in the gift exchange is optional. Dinner will begin at 6:30pm. Our program will be “Birds of the Middle Fork River Forest Preserve” by Brian Stearns.
Brian Stearns of Penfield is a wildlife photographer, recognized for the detail in his photographs, and hobbyist bird watcher who has continued exploring the Middle Fork River Forest Preserve since 2009. He and his wife Susan were probably the first to discover a pair of mating sandhill cranes at this location. His program will include his original photography along with an interactive discussion of the birds and wildlife in each photograph. Brian and Susan are past board-members of the Middlefork Audubon Society and current co-presidents of the Champaign County Audubon Society.
