Bird Counts
Members participate in two Christmas bird counts and the Illinois spring bird count each year.  New participants a re always welcome; you do not need to be a member to help.  owlwatcher@egix.net
Bird Seed Sales
Two bird seed sales are held each year, in November and February.  Seed is pre-ordered and then picked up on the designated day.  Contact owlwatcher@egix.net to put your name on the bird seed order list.  Donations are welcomed by those who don’t feed birds.  Proceeds from sales support our projects.
Bluebird Trails
We sponsor several nest box trails for bluebirds in the county which are monitored by volunteers from April through August.  If you are interested in setting up a Bluebird trail, or in helping with established trails, please contact owlwatcher@egix.net for more information.
Community Service
Middlefork Audubon Society maintains a 2-mile stretch of the county highway in front of Kennekuk County Park as a part of the Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up Program.
Education
We provide workbooks for students attending Outdoor School classes at Forest Glen Preserve and Kennekuk County Park.  We also provide educational grants for classes undertaking nature study projects at their schools.  We co-sponsor the Bald Eagle Day at Danville Area Community College each year held in February.
Stamps for Wildlife Habitat
We support the Illinois Audubon Society stamp program, and encourage the saving of commemorative stamps and picture post cards to raise money for land acquisition.  To learn more about this project, see the Illinois Audubon Society web page. www.illinoisaudubon.org
