Join us at 6:30pm, Thursday, December 12th for our annual holiday potluck and program at the Danville Public Library. The evening will begin with dinner so bring a favorite food to share. Marilyn Campbell is the evening's presenter with her program on the Manitoba Prairies and Churchill. The business portion of the meeting will include the election of officers for 2014. The evening will conclude with a gift exchange. If you'd like to participate in the gift exchange, bring a small unwrapped gift. Happy Thanksgiving.  There will be no program meeting in November. Our next event is the holiday potluck and program on December 12th.  More details will be forthcoming in our December news. October 24th presentation by Dr. Merritt Join us Thursday, October 24th at 7:00 pm for the presentation, "Bats - Myth and Reality," presented by Dr. Joseph Merritt at the Danville Public Library.  The event is free and open to the public. Snacks will be provided. About Dr. Merritt Joseph F. Merritt is senior mammalogist with the Illinois Natural History Survey. He is the former Director of Powdermill Biological Station of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and served as Distinguished Visiting Professor at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO during academic year 2004 to 2005. Dr. Merritt is a physiological ecologist and functional morphologist specializing in adaptations of mammals to cold.
